Man Held For Stabbing Woman In Sundargarh

Rajgangpur: An accused man, who was on the run, after allegedly stabbing young women on 24th December, was arrested in Chatama village of Rajgangpur.

While returning home on 24th December night from the church the young woman of Chatama village was attacked with a knife by Milan Samad (21) of Jamankira in Sambalpur.

The accused escaped with his motorcycle after attacking the woman.

After hearing her screams, the villagers rescued her and took her to the nearest Rajgangpur Community Health Center and informed the police.

The Sambalpur police shifted the injured woman to Rourkela JP Medical College as her condition was critical.

After a thorough investigation led by Rajgangpur S.D.P.O Abhisekh Panigrahi, inspector in-charge (IIC) Manoranjan Pradhan and the team tracked down the accused Milan Samad and arrested him.

Police also seized the bike and knife used in the crime from the accused and registered a case (561/23) under Sections 341/326/307 of the IPC and forwarded him to the court.
