Landless Agricultural Households In Odisha To Get One Time Additional Financial Aid Of Rs 2,000

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cabinet led by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday approved a proposal to provide a one-time additional financial assistance of Rs.2000 to landless agricultural households in the state under the flagship KALIA (Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation) Scheme.

The state government implemented the farmer’s welfare scheme KALIA from 2018-19 to accelerate the prosperity and progress of Agriculture by alleviating the poverty of landless agricultural households.

The eligible landless agricultural household is being provided with the assistance of Rs.12,500 in three instalments to take up livestock and horticultural crops-based activities to accelerate their agricultural prosperity and provide an alternate livelihood.

Now, as per the cabinet decision, Rs.2000 additional one-time assistance will be provided to the landless agricultural households which will augment their livelihood activities and contribute substantially to enhancing their income and overall well-being.

The cabinet also approved an estimated budget of Rs.6029.70 crores for the upcoming three years 2-024-25 to 2026-27) to benefit all the farm families in the state under the KALIA scheme.
