Semiliguda police in Koraput district have exposed an illegal narcotic injection racket operating near the Bhairav Temple.
Acting on intelligence, police arrested Bikram Deb Halang, D. Wilson, Soumya Ranjan Rout, and Siddhant Mishra, residents of Puri, Semiliguda, Sunabeda, and Koraput.
During the raid, authorities seized 454 ampoules of banned narcotic substances, including Pentazocine, Tramadol, and Hydrochloride injections. In addition, police confiscated a travel car (OD–10–AB–0834), four mobile phones, and Rs 7,500 in cash.
The arrested individuals have been produced in court, while further investigation is underway to trace the wider network behind the illegal trade.
At a press briefing, Sunabeda Sub-Divisional Police Officer Sumitra Jena confirmed the crackdown and emphasised the administration’s commitment to curbing drug abuse in the region.
