The Jagannath Temple Managing Committee approved draft guidelines for the Counting of Ratna Bhandar Jewels during its recent meeting.

Chief Administrator Arabinda Padhee said the draft will be sent to the state government for approval, and the final announcement will follow once clearance is granted.

Padhee stressed that the counting must not compromise the sanctity of temple traditions. He assured that the administration will ensure smooth conduct and clarity once the government approves the guidelines.

The committee also reviewed several other matters. A new set of Ratna Palanka for Lord Jagannath has been prepared and will be installed at an auspicious time. Decisions regarding the reopening of Shree Gundicha Temple will depend on ritual alignment and dates.

To regulate crowd management, the committee introduced a nominal entry fee of ₹10 for visitors, while children and persons with disabilities will be exempt. Padhee clarified that the fee is not aimed at revenue generation but at maintaining order.

In a relief measure, parking fees at four Bhakta Niwas facilities have been reduced from Rs 500 to Rs 240, easing costs for devotees.

Additionally, mobile restrictions have been imposed on servitors inside the temple. Servitors cannot use mobile phones openly and must visit the temple branch office for communication. Padhee warned that strict action will be taken against violators.
