India’s shooting campaign at the ISSF World Cup 2026 gained further momentum as Sonam Uttam Maskar and Himanshu Dhillon clinched the bronze medal in the 10 m Air Rifle Mixed Team event on Tuesday.
The Indian duo displayed remarkable composure in the final, combining for 441.2 points to finish behind China’s two teams, which claimed gold and silver. The result lifted India’s overall tally in Hangzhou to four medals — one gold, one silver, and two bronze.
India’s strong qualification performance saw both teams reach the medal round. Sonam (317.2) and Himanshu (317.4) posted a combined 634.6, while Elavenil Valarivan (316.8) and Parth Rakesh Mane (317.4) followed with 634.2.
In the final, Sonam and Himanshu maintained consistency, each contributing 220.6 points, securing the bronze. The second Indian team narrowly missed the podium, finishing fourth with 378.8 points.
Sonam described the medal as a confidence booster ahead of upcoming tournaments, including the Asian Games and World Championships. Himanshu, competing in his first senior World Cup final, called the bronze a special milestone, crediting his coach and self‑belief for the achievement.
The bronze medal further strengthens India’s impressive run at the ISSF World Cup 2026, highlighting the nation’s growing depth and consistency in international shooting.
