Yash has finally responded to the ongoing criticism surrounding the visual effects of the upcoming film Ramayana.

The debate intensified after the teaser featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama received mixed reactions online.

Addressing the concerns, Yash clarified that the film’s visuals are still under development and not the final version.

“Work in Progress,” Says Yash

Speaking during an interview, Yash emphasised that the VFX seen so far is incomplete:

“It’s still a work in progress. I’m sure it will be even better with the finished product. We are aiming for something top-notch.”

He also highlighted the involvement of DNEG, an internationally acclaimed VFX studio known for delivering high-quality cinematic visuals.

Global Expertise Behind the Film’s Visuals

DNEG has worked on several award-winning films such as Inception, Interstellar, and Dune. Their involvement has raised expectations for Ramayana to deliver world-class visual effects.

Yash expressed confidence that the final product will meet global standards and audience expectations.

Industry Reactions to VFX Debate

The teaser had earlier sparked discussions within the film industry, with Hrithik Roshan also weighing in. He noted that:

  • VFX criticism should consider creative intent
  • Minor inconsistencies can affect realism
  • Audience expectations must align with the chosen visual style

His remarks added a balanced perspective to the ongoing debate.

Film Progress and Production Updates

Yash confirmed that he has already seen a preliminary version of the film and that continuous improvements are being made.

The film is directed by Nitesh Tiwari and features:

  • Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama
  • Sai Pallavi as Sita
  • Yash as Ravana

It is produced by Namit Malhotra along with Yash under Prime Focus Studios.

Release Timeline

  • Ramayana Part 1: Diwali 2026
  • Ramayana Part 2: Diwali 2027

The makers are aiming for a grand cinematic experience, combining storytelling with advanced visual technology.
