Sundergarh: Police have busted a betting racket and arrested nine people for allegedly taking bets on ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) matches.
Acting on specific information, police officials conducted a raid near the Kuanramunda area and seized Rs 7 lakh, mobile phones, laptops, and other incriminating materials from their possession.
The accused persons were living in a rented accommodation in the Kuanramunda area and operating a racket.
The accused revealed to investigators that the bookies arranged telephonic lines using connections and they give line numbers to the punters.
