The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow nowcast warning for Bhubaneswar and seven districts of Odisha, forecasting light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning over the next three hours.
According to the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre, the warning was issued at 4:10 pm on Tuesday. Weather conditions are likely to affect isolated areas of Khordha (including Bhubaneswar), Sundaragada, Rayagada, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Sonepur, and Nayagada districts.
The IMD has advised residents to remain cautious and monitor changing weather conditions, particularly in view of the possibility of worsening thunderstorms. Citizens have been urged to plan outdoor activities carefully and take safety measures against lightning strikes.
The yellow warning serves as a precautionary advisory, highlighting the need for vigilance during thunderstorms and lightning events.
