Thamma box office collection day 3: Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s latest horror-comedy Thamma is holding strong at the box office after an impressive Diwali debut.
The film is now inching toward the Rs 100 crore worldwide mark, driven by solid audience response and positive word of mouth.
Thamma Continues Strong Run After Diwali Opening
Released during the festive Diwali weekend, Thamma opened to an excellent Rs 24 crore on Day 1 in India. The following two days saw predictable drops, with Rs 18.60 crore on Day 2 and Rs 12.50 crore on Day 3.
By Thursday night, the film’s India total stood at Rs 55.10 crore net (Rs 66 crore gross). Despite minor weekday declines, trade experts say the film is poised for a strong weekend rebound thanks to family audiences and positive reviews.
Worldwide Box Office: Rs 72 Crore in Three Days
Internationally, Thamma earned just under $700,000 (approx. Rs 6 crore). The film did not benefit from Diwali holidays overseas, as many territories do not observe the festival.
Even so, its worldwide total after three days stands at an impressive Rs 72 crore. With this, Thamma has already surpassed the lifetime earnings of Tiger Shroff’s Baaghi 4 (Rs 69 crore) and Kajol’s horror drama Maa (Rs 52 crore).
Film Expected to Cross Rs 100 Crore Soon
Trade analysts predict that the Maddock Films production will cross the Rs 100 crore mark within its extended six-day opening weekend. The movie’s strong performance, even with weekday drops, shows its growing popularity among younger audiences.
If the momentum continues, Thamma could soon outperform earlier entries from the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU) — such as Bhediya and Munjya — in the coming week.
About Thamma
Thamma stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna as betaals (Indian versions of vampires) who must stop Nawazuddin Siddiqui, a villain aiming for world domination.
The film belongs to Maddock Films’ Horror Comedy Universe, which connects to previous hits like Stree, Bhediya, and Munjya.
Directed by Amar Kaushik, the movie has received largely positive reviews for its mix of humor, horror, and sharp social commentary.
