Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted heavy rain in several districts of Odisha on Friday.
The weather agency said as many as eight districts in the State are likely to experience heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning today.
Yellow warning has been issued for these eight districts, met department said.
One or two places in several districts of Odisha may witness heavy showers in the next 24 hours.
Yellow warning issued for the districts are Cuttack, Khordha, Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara and Nayagarh. District authorities have been asked to remain alert to deal with any possible eventuality.
