Ganjam: A tusker was killed after it came in contact with live electric wires at a cashew orchard under North Ghumsur forest division in Ganjam district.
Locals blamed the forest staff for their alleged “negligence and laxity’ that led to the death of the elephant.
However, the Divisional Forest Officer is yet to comment on the same.
The lack of prompt action by the forest is being termed as a reason behind such incidents.
