Nuapada: Police seized 1 quintal of ganja from a coal-laden truck at the Odisha-Chhattisgarh border while checking on Thursday.
Because of the general elections, the police of Odisha and Chhattisgarh have tightened the security and checking of the vehicles at the border.
Based on intelligence, the team of cops intercepted the coal-laden truck and seized the ganja and the truck. The driver has been arrested and forwarded to the court. Investigation is underway.
A joint team of police, excise department and forest department under the leadership of Jonk IIC Gurudev Karmi is conducting a 24-hour operation at the border on the instructions of Nuapada SP GR Raghvendra.
