Acting on instructions from Collector Bibhuti Bhushan Nayak and Excise Superintendent Shanti Marandi, the Boudh Excise Range seized 120 kg of ganja hidden near San Babada jungle under Boudh police limits.
Officials said the contraband was discovered during routine patrolling, where it had been concealed for illegal transport. The seized ganja was produced before court on Wednesday afternoon for legal proceedings.
The raid was led by Inspector Dilip Kumar Satapathy, assisted by Excise Officer Satya Narayan Pradhan and staff including Loknath Bhoi, Anand Chandra Meher, Anjali Amat, Hrushikesh Barik, Kailash Sahu, and Niranjan Mallik.
Authorities estimate the market value of the seized ganja at Rs 12 lakh.
