Kesinga police seized a country‑made rifle, Rs 93,000 in cash, and an EV car during a raid near Amath Chhak.
Three accused were arrested and later produced in court.
Police sources said the accused — Subashis Pradhan alias Kalia of BBC Pada, Bhawanipatna; N. Damodar Rao; and Chandan Panda — were allegedly transporting illegal items in a newly purchased EV car. Acting on a tip‑off, Kesinga police intercepted the vehicle and recovered the rifle and cash.
Authorities are investigating the purpose behind the cash and weapon transport. The raid was conducted under the supervision of SP Nagaraj Debkonda, with Kesinga SDPO Sandeep Majhi overseeing the operation.
The arrests mark a significant step in cracking down on illegal arms and suspicious financial transactions in the region.
