Delhi Reports First Monkeypox Case, Admitted To Hosp

New Delhi: The national capital on Sunday reported the first case of monkeypox virus. The patient has been identified as a 31-year-old man with no travel history.

According to the Health Ministry, the patient have been admitted to Maulana Azad Medical College.

This is India’s fourth case, with the other three all from Kerala.

India had reported its first case of monkeypox in Kerala. The infected person, a man, returned to the state from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and was hospitalised after showing signs of the virus.

Monkeypox have already been reported in several European countries and the United States. The World Health Organization (WHO) had earlier warned the spread of cases could ‘accelerate’.
