Kendrapara: A large number of dead fish were found floating in a water body in Kendrapara district on Tuesday morning.
According to reports, villagers passing along the Digi pond in Garadapur panchayat of Kendrapara district detected around 1-3 kg of decomposed fish floating and brought it to the notice of the local authorities.
However, the exact cause of the deaths at the pond was not known immediately. The women of the Self Help Group complained to the Patkura police and demanded officials to look into the matter.
It is pertinent to mention that for almost a year an all-woman SHG (Self Help Group) was getting loans and growing fish in the pond. They used to earn huge profits from the business also.
