Dhenkanal: A college girl died after she was mowed down by a speeding bus near Uparbaghalunda here on Monday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Ipsita Baral of Belapada village.
According to reports, Ipsita, a Plus II First Year student of Satyam Shivam Sundaram College, with one of her friend was heading towards the college on a scooter to attend the function. Meanwhile, the two fell from the vehicle after hitting a dog.
Meanwhile, a bus approaching from rear then ran over Ipsita, resulting in her death.
Following the incident, irate locals and students staged road blockade on the NH at Dhalapur Chhak.
