Bhubaneswar: The by-election to Padampur assembly constituency in Bargarh district of Odisha will be conducted on December 5, 2022, announced the Election Commission of India (ECI) today.
As per the press note of ECI, the specific gazette notification regarding the by-poll will be issued on November 10. The last date for filing nominations by candidates is November 17. Similarly, November 18 and 21 have been set as the date for scrutiny of nominations and the last date for withdrawal of candidatures respectively.
The results will be declared on December 8.
The by-poll has been necessitated following the demise of senior BJD leader and five-time MLA Bijaya Ranjan Singh Bariha, who passed away at a private hospital late on October 2 at the age of 64.
