Balasore: In a major drug haul, police seized 10 kg brown sugar and arrested six persons allegedly involved in the drug transaction in Fuladi area under Sahadevkhunta police station in Balasore district, police said on Friday.
The estimated cost of the seized contraband is about Rs 11 crore, police added.
Acting on an intelligence input regarding transaction of the drugs, a team of police carried out a raid at Fuladi area and seized the illegal narcotics.
The contraband materials were packed in separate polythene bags, police said.
Police also seized a Yamaha FZ bike, a Honda Glaze scooty, five smart phones and a keypad mobile phone from their possession.
An Aadhar card and Rs 21,000 cash have also been seized from their possession.
Police revealed that one of the six accused is from Madhya Pradesh while others belong to Balasore.
Prima facie investigation suggested that they procured the items from WB-Assam border and suppluy them to various parts of Odisha.
