Bhubaneswar: Miscreants allegedly looted jewellery worth over lakhs from a locked house breaking the window in Kapila Prasad, Kelucharan lane 5 in Bhubaneswar on Saturday.

As per reports, the loot occurred in the house when nobody was inside the house. The house owner Dhruba Patra had gone Bengaluru to visit his daughter’s house about 15 days ago. In his absence, he appointed a care taker to look after the house.

But last night, the caretaker had not come to stay in his house due to his son’s illness. Taking this advantage, the miscreants entered the house breaking the window and looted the gold and silver ornaments from the house.

The incident came to fore while the caretaker reached there in the morning and noticed the window broken. He immediately informed the police about this.

On intimation, the commissionerate police reached the scene and launched an investigation. According to the neighbours, often this type of incidents occur in that area.
