The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary, Jay Shah, has announced that Rohit Sharma will be leading team India in the T20 World Cup scheduled for June, according to a recent report.

Shah also confirmed that Hardik Pandya will be the vice-captain for the tournament.

Furthermore, addressing Virat Kohli’s absence from the Test series against England, Shah stated that Kohli is not the kind of player who would miss a series without any significant urgency, and he deserves the right to make the decision.

Finally, Jay Shah emphasized the importance of the Ranji Trophy and announced that playing in the Trophy would be mandatory for each player before getting selected in the India team or IPL franchise.
