Director Meghna Gulzar’s investigative drama Daayra, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran, has wrapped up its opening weekend on a dismal note.
The film struggled to draw audiences into theatres, managing a modest collection of Rs. 4.10 crore over its first three days.
The investigative thriller opened with a quiet start on Friday, netting just Rs. 1 crore. The film registered slight growth on Saturday and Sunday, picking up Rs. 1.50 crore and Rs. 1.60 crore, respectively. However, the mediocre upward trend was insufficient to salvage the film’s overall weekend performance.

Daayra centres around an institutional clash of ethics following a controversial high-profile encounter. The plot focuses on Officer Raman Kumar and his team following their action against suspects, which triggers an internal investigation led by Officer Ajooni Kohli to determine whether the shooting was staged.
Along with lead stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran, the ensemble cast features Kanwaljit Singh, Achint Kaur, Anuja Sathe, Seema Azmi, and Biswapati Sarkar in pivotal roles.
