The Odisha state government has extended prompt medical support to Shivangi Vaishnavi Nayak, a specially-abled child from Jajpur district, facilitating a successful hand surgery at AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
The intervention came after Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Mukesh Mahaling took note of a post shared by an ‘X’ user named Debiprasad. Highlighting the child’s plight, the post prompted the Minister to issue immediate directives to the Health Department to ensure comprehensive treatment for Shivangi.
Following the Minister’s instructions, health officials arranged for her treatment and surgery at AIIMS Bhubaneswar. Medical authorities confirmed that the hand surgery was executed successfully, and full logistical and care support was provided to ensure a smooth recovery at the hospital.
This marks the second instance of assistance extended to Shivangi by Dr. Mahaling. In 2025, the Minister had similarly intervened to facilitate a hearing aid for her. Expressing deep appreciation for the prompt and continuous care, Shivangi’s family extended their heartfelt gratitude to the Health Minister and state government.
Reaffirming its welfare vision, the state government emphasised its commitment to providing timely medical treatment, social security, and essential support to specially-abled children and needy citizens across Odisha.
