Odisha has published its final electoral roll under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026. Chief Electoral Officer R.S. Gopalan announced the figures at a press conference in Bhubaneswar.
The state now has 3,16,32,754 electors. That is a net rise of 2,45,720 from the draft roll released on 5 July. Male electors stand at 1,61,30,319, female electors at 1,54,99,661, and third-gender electors at 2,774. The elector-population ratio is 67.05 and the gender ratio is 961.
The process began with a pre-revision figure of 3,33,99,591 electors. Booth Level Officers distributed Enumeration Forms to every existing voter. About 20.13 lakh forms were not returned. Those names — listed as absent, shifted, deceased, duplicate or other — were left out of the draft roll. The draft therefore contained 3,13,87,034 names.
During the claims and objections window and the subsequent notice-and-hearing phase, 2,90,497 names were added (mostly through Form 6) while 44,777 names were deleted from the draft. Combined with the earlier exclusions, more than 20 lakh entries that could not be verified were removed.
After rationalisation, Odisha now has 45,250 polling stations, up from 38,123. The final roll for service voters has also been published; it contains 46,816 service electors.
Voters can check their names at every polling station, at ERO and AERO offices, and on the official websites voters.eci.gov.in and ceoodisha.nic.in.
Applications for inclusion (Form 6/6A), correction (Form 8) or deletion (Form 7) can still be filed through the usual online and offline channels. Appeals against ERO decisions lie first with the District Magistrate and then with the Chief Electoral Officer.
The SIR exercise, conducted under Election Commission of India directions with 1 July 2026 as the qualifying date, was designed to produce a more accurate and inclusive roll ahead of future elections. Officials have asked every elector to verify their entry promptly.
