Cuttack: Jagatpur police have arrested a person for allegedly stealing cash from a scooter luggage box. The arrestee has been identified as Ganesh Pradhan(30) of Jakhapura area under Jajpur police station limits.
According to available information, on April 28, the accused broke open the scooter luggage box of one Ramchandra Sahoo and decamped with Rs 30,400. Following this, Ramchandra had lodged a complaint with the local police station.
On the basis of the FIR, police had registered a case and launched a probe in this regard. While the cops initially seized the bike used in the crime, later, they conducted a raid at the Dasmania area in Jajpur and arrested the accused with the seizure of Rs 40,000 from his possession.
During interrogation, the accused confessed to his crime and revealed that three others were also involved in the theft.
The accused has been forwarded to the court and efforts to nab the other three accused involved in the theft is on, sources said.
