Chennai: Amid the economic crisis in Sri Lanka, a large number of people are fleeing the island nation. Since the crisis, many people, mainly Tamils, reached India and have been accommodated in a refugee camp at Mandapam.
According to reports, 12 more people have entered India through Tamil Nadu. They were rescued from a patch of land mid-sea where they were dropped off in a boat, officials added.
