Dhenkanal: The body of a youth was recovered from near a railway track in Bhuban locality of Dhenkanal district last night.
The deceased has been identified as Bhabani Diani (25), a resident of Balijhati village under Bhuban police limits.
According to reports, Bhabani had gone for some work on Sunday and did not return till late. Following this, the family member launched a frantic search and found his body lying near a newly constructed railway track at around 8 pm on Sunday and informed the police about the same.
Irate over the incident, locals blocked the Jajpur-Angul National Highway 55 demanding compensation for the family of the deceased.
On receiving information, police reached the spot and pacified the villagers. Thereafter, police recovered the body and sent it for a post-mortem to a nearby hospital.
Further investigation is underway in this regard.
