Nuapada: A youth was killed in a lightning strike on Tuesday in Jhanjimunda village under Nuapada police station. The deceased has been identified as Hemsingh Majhi, 33, of Jhanjimunda village.
According to information, Hemsingh Majhi had his brick kiln near a pond in Limapada, Jhanjimunda. Due to bad weather, he was taking tarpaulin with him to protect the brick kiln from the rain.
Suddenly the lightning struck him causing his death, on the spot. After finding his dead body family members immediately informed the police station.
Soon Nuapada police arrived at the scene and sent the body to the Nuapada DHH for post-mortem. Later the body was handed over to the family.
