Bhubaneswar/New Delhi: “There is no need for a BJD-BJP alliance to win elections as Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik does not need BJP to win elections in Odisha, nor does Prime Minister Narendra Modi need BJD to form a government at the centre,” said 5T Chairman Karthik Pandian.
In an interview with a news channel, Pandian said that both Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are very popular. “Undoubtedly, Naveen Patnaik is going to be the Chief Minister of Odisha for the sixth time and Narendra Modi is going to be the Prime Minister again,’ he said.
Speaking at the CNN News18, Rising Bharat Summit 2024 in Delhi, 5T & Nabin Odisha Chairman Kartik Pandian said that one of the key reasons for Hon’ble CM Naveen Patnaik’s success is that he doesn’t think of politics as politics but as a public service.
The Hon’ble CM is keeping politics away from public service and has dedicated his life to people’s cause. Undoubtedly, he is a great soul,” Pandian said.
The two leaders, CM Naveen and PM Modi, are thinking beyond politics for the development of the state and the country. Therefore, there is no electoral value in it, he said.
Pandian said, “Many times, political parties conspire to win elections or to influence the electoral equation. But both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik do not need alliance to win elections.”
“It means that neither BJD needs BJP to form government in Odisha nor does BJP needs BJD to form government at the Centre,” said the 5T Chairman.
Current reports state that Narendra Modi will become the Prime Minister once again. Some things are above politics. Karthik Pandian said that in such a situation, the possibility of an alliance is only a matter of two politicians.
“If both come together for a great cause, it doesn’t mean that there is any politics equation,” he said and added that there are no electoral gains in this, either for BJP or BJD.
“The Chief Minister wins three-fourths of the votes in every election due to his popularity. BJD won 95 per cent of the seats in the recently concluded panchayat elections. There is a close friendship between the two personalities. They have gone beyond politics and are concerned for the development of the nation. This is an example of a good relationship between the two leaders. Everything will be known, when it happens,” Pandian said.
