A shocking incident in Rayagada created panic after the body of a 35‑year‑old woman was found stuffed inside a large bag outside the HSPL Hyundai showroom near Khaliguda on Wednesday morning.
Showroom employees noticed a foul smell while opening the premises and began searching the area. They discovered a large bag lying near the entrance and immediately informed the police. Chandili Police Station IIC Uttam Kumar Sahu, Rayagada SDPO Gourahari Sahu, and a police team reached the spot and began an investigation.
A scientific team examined the scene in the presence of a magistrate. Upon opening the bag, investigators found the woman’s body inside. Police launched a detailed probe to determine the identity of the deceased and the circumstances surrounding her death.
Officials collected forensic samples and evidence from the site. The body was sent for post‑mortem examination to establish the cause of death. Authorities are verifying CCTV footage from nearby establishments to trace possible suspects or vehicles involved in dumping the bag.
