Woman Trampled To Death By Elephant In Sundergarh’s Koida

Sundergarh: A woman was trampled to death by a wild elephant near Koida forest area in Sundergarh district late last night.

The deceased has been identified as Sukumar Munda (35), a resident of Panposia village.

According to reports, the incident occurred while Sukumar along with her husband and kids were trying to escape from the pachyderm when she was trampled to death by the jumbo.

On being informed, the forest official reached the spot and recovered the body for post-mortem.

Meanwhile, the locals alleged that even after several complaints their grievances were remain unheard.

It is pertinent to mention that it is the second death in a tusker attack within a week.
