Cuttack: A woman was trampled to death by an elephant when she was on her way to the farmland at Achalkote village under Athgarh Forest Division in Cuttack district on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Niasa Rout of the village.
On being informed about the incident, they rushed to the spot and found the woman dead. As news of the woman’s death spread, tension flared up in the village. Following this, villagers demanded compensation.
