A violent clash erupted in Bhubaneswar’s Laxmisagar area late Friday night, leaving two youths critically injured after a knife attack.

The victims, identified as Badal Ojha and Alok Ojha, sustained severe injuries when a group of youths from Haladipadia slum allegedly arrived on motorcycles and attacked them. The assault reportedly stemmed from an old rivalry between the groups.

Both victims were rushed to a private hospital as their condition turned critical. Police from Laxmisagar station reached the spot soon after the incident and began an investigation. Officers collected evidence and recorded statements from witnesses to trace the attackers.

Residents expressed concern over rising late-night violence in the capital city, calling for stronger patrolling and preventive measures. The incident has reignited fears about public safety in Bhubaneswar’s residential pockets.

Authorities confirmed that the probe will focus on identifying the assailants and determining the motive behind the attack.
