Thor: Love and Thunder Trailer Out | Chris Hemsworth Reacts

New York: Marvel Studios released the Thor: Love and Thunder trailer. The fourth Thor movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe sees the return of Chris Hemsworth as the God of Thunder, with the actor reteaming with Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi. Love and Thunder also features the return of many other Marvel characters, most notable being Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, who hasn’t appeared in an MCU movie since Thor: The Dark World.

Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie, who was introduced in Ragnarok, will also be back. Additionally, after the Avengers: Endgame ending left Thor with the Guardians of the Galaxy, those characters will also appear in the film.

Even though the footage was only a teaser’s length, its 90 seconds were jam-packed with reveals and first looks. Those included the debuts of Jane Foster’s Mighty Thor and Russell Crowe’s Zeus as well as the returns of the Guardians of the Galaxy and Tessa Thompson’s King Valkyrie.

To celebrate the release of Thor: Love and Thunder’s debut teaser, Chris Hemsworth posted his own reaction online while also promising fans that “you’ll laugh you’ll cry, then you’ll laugh so much you’ll cry some more!!”

Even though much of Marvel’s Phase 4 has centered on the Multiverse and the MCU’s ever-growing freshman class, Thor: Love and Thunder is proof that Marvel Studios hasn’t abandoned its remaining OG Avengers.

The 90-second trailer features just a quick look at Crowe, who appears to grab a lightning bolt before taking in the applause of a large arena that could end up being Olympus, the city of the Greek gods. Although, whether or not Zeus and Thor are actually literal “gods” in the MCU is up for debate, thanks to new revelations in Disney Plus’ Moon Knight.

According to the film’s official synopsis, Love and Thunder sees Thor working with King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi), and Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) to stop the God Butcher’s conquest for revenge. Jane Foster is wielding Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir, a story that originated in the comics.

After a delay, Thor: Love and Thunder is set to hit theaters on July 8, 2022. There’s certainly plenty more waiting to be revealed, as director Taika Waititi has called the movie the “craziest thing I’ve ever done.”
