Puja rituals at Bhubaneswar’s historic Lord Lingaraj Temple resumed on Saturday after a 20‑hour suspension caused by a dispute between servitor groups.
The conflict between the Brahmana Nijog and Puja Panda Nijog during the Panchavakra rituals on Friday had halted the temple’s daily rites since the Bada Singhar Besha.
A three‑hour meeting chaired by the Khordha District ADM and the Chief Administrator of Lingaraj Temple, along with the Temple Managing Board and servitor groups, helped resolve the issue. Following the discussions, the rituals recommenced, restoring normal worship at the shrine.
The Brahmana Nijog Committee President confirmed that the matter was settled amicably, ensuring continuity of services at one of Odisha’s most revered temples.
