Odisha Vigilance arrested Rabindra Kumar Barik, Junior Accountant at the office of District Manager, OSCSC Ltd., Sundargarh, for possession of disproportionate assets.
Authorities will forward him to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Balasore, today.
Searches on Barik’s properties revealed assets far beyond his known sources of income. Officials discovered a multi-storeyed building, a market complex with a gym, and a Kalyan Mandap in Balasore Town. They also found another building in Baripada Town, four valuable plots around Balasore, 175 grams of gold, and deposits worth Rs. 43.81 lakhs. Barik failed to provide satisfactory explanations for these holdings.
The Vigilance registered Balasore PS Case No. 19/2025 under the Prevention of Corruption Act against him. Investigators confirmed that the assets clearly exceeded his legitimate earnings. The arrest highlights Odisha Vigilance’s continued crackdown on corruption and its commitment to accountability in public service.
Officials emphasised that the case strengthens vigilance efforts across the state. The discovery of multiple high-value properties and financial deposits underscores the seriousness of the charges.
