Odisha Vigilance arrested Bijay Kumar Mohanty, Junior Engineer of the Command Area Development Division, Bhadrak, for holding disproportionate assets far beyond his known income.
Vigilance teams searched his properties and discovered two multi‑storeyed buildings, seven valuable plots, ₹1.73 lakh in cash, 350 grams of gold, and deposits worth ₹19.46 lakh. Mohanty failed to justify these assets during questioning.
Officials registered Balasore Vigilance PS Case No. 6/2026 under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018. The accused will appear before the Court of the Special Judge, Vigilance, Balasore.
Investigators traced the assets to multiple locations and verified ownership documents. They also examined bank accounts and property records to determine the source of funds. The findings revealed a clear mismatch between his earnings and accumulated wealth.
