STF Nabs Two Drug Peddlers From City Outskirts, Heroin Weighing 1 Kg Seized

Bhubaneswar: The Special Task Force (STF) apprehended two drug peddlers and seized more than 1 Kg of brown sugar (Heroin) from them near Uttara-Pipili on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar on Friday evening.

On the basis of intelligence input, a raid was conducted by a team of STF, Bhubaneswar near Uttara-Pipli on 01.09.2023 evening against illegal dealing, possession of Narcotic Drugs and two drug peddlers, Lipun Pandey alias Lulu of Pipili village and 2) Sk Abbash of Khurda Saradhapur, Masjidgali were apprehended.

During the search, contraband brown sugar (Heroin) weighing 01 Kg 080 grams (1080gm) and other incriminating materials were recovered and seized from their possession. The accused persons could not produce any valid authority in support of the possession of such contraband materials, for which the accused persons were arrested and will be forwarded to the court of District & Sessions cum Spl. Judge, Puri. In this connection, STF PS Case No.17 dated 01.09.2023 U/s 21(c)/29 of NDPS Act 1985 was registered. The investigation is on, the STF said.

A special drive against narcotic drugs is continuing. Since 2020, STF has seized more than 72 Kg of Brown Sugar/Heroin, 202 grams of Cocaine and more than 116 quintals of Ganja/Marijuana, Opium 750 grams and arrested more than 178 drug dealers/peddlers. STF also destroyed 62+ Kg of seized Brown sugar in the last one year.
