Bhubaneswar: Odisha will introduce Spoken English in Class I in all government schools from the coming session to improve the communication skills of children.
The foreign language is presently being taught from Class III in all government schools in Odisha.
The School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash told reporters on Saturday that the decision was taken to improve communication skills of children from an early stage.
Spoken English will be introduced in 101 schools across 30 districts of Odisha. These schools will be selected as Centres of Excellence, the Minister added.
