SpaceX has postponed the launch of its Ax-4 mission due to technical issues with the Falcon 9 rocket and unfavourable weather conditions.
The mission, originally scheduled for today, has been rescheduled for June 12.
Axiom Space’s Ax-4 mission, which is set to transport a four-member crew to the International Space Station (ISS), includes Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla from the Indian Air Force. His participation marks a significant milestone for India’s space ambitions.
According to sources, the launch was halted due to a liquid oxygen (LOX) leak detected in one of Falcon 9’s engines during pre-launch checks. Additionally, adverse weather conditions over the launch site contributed to the decision to postpone.
SpaceX has stated that engineers are working to resolve the technical issue, and a backup launch date has been secured. The company remains confident in its ability to execute a successful mission once conditions improve.
The Ax-4 mission aims to facilitate scientific research aboard the ISS, with astronauts engaging in experiments related to human health, advanced materials, and space technology development.
