The Odisha Law Minister, Prithviraj Harichandan, announced that Srimandir will soon introduce a queue and slot booking system to make darshan more convenient for devotees.
He said devotees can book slots according to their preferred time and visit Lord Jagannath without waiting in long queues. The temple administration will prepare a separate holding area for those who book slots. The system will first run on a trial basis before final approval by the managing committee.
Harichandan added that both queue darshan and slot booking will operate simultaneously to ensure flexibility for visitors. The administration is also preparing a ramp to ease movement during darshan.
Plans include air-conditioning the Natamandap and improving crowd management inside the temple. Officials said around 4,500 to 5,000 devotees can have darshan at a time once the new system becomes operational.
