Puri: In view of the fresh wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has issued a fresh standard operating procedure (SOP) for darshan of the holy trinity.
According to sources, the new SoP will come into effect from Thursday and the temple will remain closed for public darshan on all Sundays.
As per the new SOP, devotees can enter the temple for darshan from 05:30 AM to 09:30 PM on all days when the temple is open for public darshan.
In order to avoid any spike in the transmission of Covid-19, the temple will remain closed for darshan on December 31 and January 1, on account of the large gathering that is anticipated on those days.
“Jaya Bijaya Dwar and Beherana Dwar remain closed for the conduct of special rituals like Banaka Lagi and Paita Lagi. Entry to the temple for that period of time was prohibited under the SOPs issued earlier. However, now onwards there will be no restrictions on entry of devotees to the temple complex for darshan of Parshva Devtas, to visit Anand Bazaar,” read the SOP.
