Paradip: Aiming for the betterment of the coastal security, ‘Sagar Kavach-1’ a two-day joint coastal exercise has flagged off on Wednesday in Paradip coast.
As per reports, 18 agencies of the country including the Indian Navy, Coast Guard, Odisha Marine Police, Fisheries and Forest departments, Paradip Port and ODRAF are taking part in the Sagar Kavach exercise.
In the exercise, all the participant agencies split into two groups Blue team and Red team. The Red team would act like armed offensive infiltrators and the Blue team would act to launch a defensive counterattack to secure the coastline from all strategic fronts.
After the 26/11 Mumbai attack, this exercise has been conducted twice a year to enhance the efficacy and alertness of the coastal security departments strengthening the surveillance in the long coastline of the country all around the year.
