Actor Rhea Chakraborty has spoken candidly about the emotional impact of witnessing the arrest and public scrutiny faced by Aryan Khan, revealing that it brought back painful memories of her brother Showik Chakraborty and his legal troubles.

Rhea, who has gradually rebuilt her career after years of intense public attention following the investigation into the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, reflected on the difficult chapter during a recent interview with Variety India.

Aryan Khan’s Case Triggered Personal Memories

Speaking about Aryan Khan’s arrest in the high-profile narcotics case, Rhea said the episode closely resembled what her family experienced when Showik Chakraborty was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).

According to the actor, watching Aryan face legal proceedings and public scrutiny was emotionally challenging because it reminded her of her brother’s ordeal.

She noted that the similarities between the two cases were striking and admitted that following the developments was “very hard to watch.” Rhea added that she chose not to engage with the media extensively during that period and continues to maintain a low profile regarding the controversy.

Rhea Reflects on Time Spent in Jail

Rhea also opened up about her experience in jail, describing it as one of the most difficult phases of her life.

The actor said the toughest aspect was losing a sense of personal identity and freedom. She explained that incarceration left her feeling disconnected from society and forced her to confront deep emotional and psychological challenges.

According to Rhea, being separated from family members and living with uncertainty about her future had a profound impact on her self-esteem and mental well-being.

Mental Health Struggles After the Controversy

The actor acknowledged that she went through a prolonged period of emotional turmoil, dealing with anxiety, grief, anger, and symptoms of post-traumatic stress.

Rhea admitted that she experienced what she described as a “victim-spiraling” phase and said some of those emotions continue to surface from time to time. Despite the challenges, she has focused on rebuilding her life and career.

Career Comeback and New Ventures

In recent years, Rhea Chakraborty has steadily returned to the spotlight. She was recently seen on the reality show MTV Roadies: Double Cross and has expanded her professional journey by launching her fashion and lifestyle brand, Chapter 2.

The actor’s latest remarks offer a rare glimpse into the personal impact of one of the most closely watched controversies in recent Bollywood history, while also highlighting her efforts to move forward both personally and professionally.
