Red Warning issued for severe heat wave conditions in 9 Odisha districts

Bhubaneswar: Regional Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, has issued Red Warning for severe heat wave conditions in nine districts of the State. These districts are- Khordha, Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Angul and Cuttack.

IMD has issued Orange Warning for heat wave conditions to districts like Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Nuapada, Nabarangpur and Malkangiri. Yellow Warning has been issued to three districts – Koraput, Bargarh and Puri.

“Several parts of Odisha will experience severe heat wave conditions today. The condition is likely to prevail till May 1. Day temperature may likely to reduce a little bit from May 2,” said Manorama Mohanty, Director of Regional Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar.
