Veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been named in Saurashtra’s 16-member squad for their Ranji Trophy 2026/27 opener against Chhattisgarh, starting Oct 11 at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot.
Experienced fast bowler Jaydev Unadkat continues to captain the two-time champions, who retained 14 players following an early group-stage exit last season.
Fresh off an ODI series against the West Indies, Jadeja’s participation offers a vital opportunity to regain red-ball match rhythm ahead of India’s upcoming two-Test tour of New Zealand in November.
Unadkat arrives in fine form after a stellar stint with English county side Sussex, where he took 28 wickets across seven matches. The pace attack will feature Unadkat alongside left-arm seamer Chetan Sakariya, while new faces Neel Pandya and Arth Yadav earned maiden call-ups. Harvik Desai will handle wicket-keeping duties, supported by an experienced batting core featuring Arpit Vasavada and Chirag Jani.
Saurashtra are placed in Elite Group B alongside Andhra, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Hyderabad, Karnataka, Punjab, and Tripura as they target a stronger domestic campaign.
