Producer Namit Malhotra has responded to the ongoing debate surrounding the overseas launch of the much-anticipated film Ramayana.

The teaser was first unveiled in the United States before being released in India, sparking discussions across social media.

Speaking at the Mumbai event alongside director Nitesh Tiwari, Malhotra urged audiences to focus on unity rather than division.

“Don’t divide. This is not the time to be divisive,” he said, highlighting the emotional connection of Indians living abroad.

Global Vision Behind the Overseas Premiere

The teaser launch events were held in Los Angeles and New York, with actor Ranbir Kapoor attending alongside the film’s creators.

Malhotra explained that the decision to premiere internationally was driven by a broader vision to present Ramayana as a global story.

He emphasised that the epic belongs to audiences worldwide and that the aim is to increase awareness beyond India.

“There are Indians all over the world… it’s one world, one Ramayana,” he added.

Teaser Unveiled on Hanuman Jayanti

The first glimpse of the film was officially released in India on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti. The teaser introduces Ranbir Kapoor in the role of Lord Rama and offers a brief look at other key characters.

The launch took place across multiple cities, with the Mumbai event attended by the core team.

Star-Studded Cast and Massive Scale

Ramayana is being developed as a two-part cinematic project with an estimated budget of ₹4000 crore, making it one of the most expensive films ever produced.

The film features a high-profile cast, including:

  • Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama
  • Yash as Ravana
  • Sai Pallavi as Sita
  • Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman
  • Ravie Dubey as Lakshman

The teaser also hints at iconic elements from the epic, including Ravana’s Pushpak Vimana.

Music and Release Timeline

The film’s music is composed by Oscar-winning artists Hans Zimmer and A. R. Rahman, adding to its global appeal.

Ramayana Part One is scheduled for release in October 2026, with the second installment expected in 2027.
