Odisha Vigilance will observe Vigilance Awareness Week from October 26 to November 1, 2026, with the theme “Probity for Prosperity.” The week-long campaign aims to reinforce ethical governance and public participation in the fight against corruption.
The state-level function will be held on October 27 at 11 am at the Convention Centre, Lokseva Bhavan, Bhubaneswar. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will attend as the chief guest and administer the Integrity Pledge, as circulated by the Central Vigilance Commission, to public servants from government departments and public sector undertakings. Chief Secretary will be the guest of honour.
To ensure statewide participation, the Information and Public Relations Department will live-stream the main event. The Electronics and IT Department will connect all collectorates and block offices through the OSWAN network via video conferencing, enabling officials at every administrative level to take the pledge simultaneously.
Student and youth engagement forms a key part of the programme. District-level competitions in debate, quiz, cartoon, slogan writing, painting, rangoli and poster-making on anti-corruption themes will be organised in schools and colleges across the state. Winners will be felicitated at district-level functions conducted by Vigilance Divisions and Units.
Public outreach activities will include meetings, rallies, walkathons and marathons at district headquarters. Students, youth, academics, officials, self-help groups, NGOs, media and civil society members will participate. Anti-corruption banners and posters will be displayed at prominent public locations. Awareness Gram Sabhas involving SHG members and Panchayati Raj representatives will be held in rural areas to take the message to the grassroots.
On the opening day, bulk SMS messages highlighting the Vigilance toll-free number 1064 and landline 0671-2305988 will be sent to mobile users across Odisha to encourage reporting of corruption. The online complaint portal at odishavigilance.gov.in has also been updated. Extensive outreach will continue through social media, WhatsApp, email, electronic, print and web platforms.
During the state-level function, awards will be presented for Best Vigilance Division, Best Vigilance Unit, Best Male Investigating Officer, Best Woman Investigating Officer and Best Public Prosecutor.
Odisha Vigilance has appealed to citizens, institutions and civil society organisations to actively participate in the week and join the collective effort to build a transparent and corruption-free Odisha.
