At least eight civilians were killed and 95 others injured after joint US-Israeli airstrikes targeted a key bridge in Karaj, according to Iranian state media reports.

During a conversation with Ilham Aliyev, Pezeshkian emphasised that Iran would use all available means to respond while continuing diplomatic engagement efforts.
He also highlighted that indirect negotiations with the United States were underway when the strikes began.

President Aliyev expressed concern about the broader implications of the conflict on regional stability and security, calling for a swift resolution and restoration of peace.
The leaders also discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation between Iran and Azerbaijan despite ongoing tensions.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reiterated that Tehran’s actions in the Strait of Hormuz are aimed at maintaining security.
He stated that restrictions on vessels linked to adversaries are in line with international law, while assuring that non-hostile ships continue to receive safe passage through coordinated efforts.

In separate diplomatic talks, Philippine Foreign Minister Maria Teresa Lazaro expressed condolences over the loss of lives and urged an immediate end to hostilities.
