Abu Dhabi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to inaugurate the UAE’s first Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi on February 14.

He will also address the Indian community event, Ahlan Modi (Hello Modi) at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in UAE on February 13.

The spiritual leader Mahant Swami Maharaj arrived in Abu Dhabi on Monday ahead of the inauguration of the BAPS Hindu temple. He reached the Gulf nation as a state guest to preside over the historic inauguration of the UAE’s first Hindu Temple.

BAPS Hindu Mandir is made from pink Rajasthan sandstone and white Italian marble stone, carved in India and transported to UAE for assembly.

Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, donated 13.5 acres of land for the construction of the temple during PM Modi’s visit to the country in 2015. In January 2019, the UAE Government allocated a further 13.5 acres of land, thus making a total of 27 acres of land gifted for the temple.

The majestic complex will reflect the spirit of Indian culture and will also be a testament to the growing friendship between India and the UAE.
